Voices: A Library Lecture Series opens today, Sept. 13 with dramatic readings

Why We March – Then and Now

11 to 11:50 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13
Bulmer Telecommunications Center Auditorium

Eight talented authors will join Patricia A. Nugent, editor of the recently-published “Before They Were Our Mothers: Voices of Women Born Before Rosie Started Riveting,” to present dramatic readings of their mother’s real-life stories describing universal themes of immigration, discrimination, poverty and classism of the early to World War II-era 20th century. Women continue to face the same issues today, so the march continues. The event will include a Q&A session and books will be available for purchase.

Presented by Voices: A Library Lecture Series.
