The Voices: A Library Lecture Series Committee is pleased to present “Growing an Idea: Mushroom Packaging and Beyond” by Sue Van Hook on Tuesday, April 14, from 1 to 1:50 p.m. in the BTC Auditorium.
Sue Van Hook, chief mycologist for Ecovative Design, an international company based in Green Island, discusses the growth of a student entrepreneurial idea conceived at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Evocative Design developed an innovative way to turn backyard fungi into a biodegradable material used as a responsible alternative to packaging and insulation.
