The Voices: A Library Lecture Series Committee is pleased to present “Parenting a Transgendered Child” by James Collins and Fiona Thompson on Tuesday, Oct. 21, from 1 to 1:50 p.m. in the BTC Auditorium.
James Collins, professor of Anthropology at the University at Albany, and Fiona Thompson, volunteer coordinator, Albany School District, discuss their personal experiences as parents of a transgendered son. They also share their observations of the civil rights struggle of transgendered people in South Africa, where they lived for six months as part of a Fulbright Scholarship.
