The Voices: A Library Lecture Series Committee is pleased to present “Suicide Prevention for Military Service Members and Veterans” on Thursday, Sept. 27, from 11 to 11:50 a.m. in the BTC Auditorium.
Joseph S. Hunter, PhD, LCSW, ICADC, and Suicide Prevention Coordinator at Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, will give an overview of the latest statistics and research on the risk and protective factors associated with military service members’ and veterans’ suicides. He will discuss the key warning signs of suicide and strategies to provide support and encouragement that lead to successful referral and treatment in both routine and emergency situations
