WANTED: Participants for psychological research

The Hudson Valley Community College Psychology Club is conducting a research study, which it hopes to present at the Eastern Psychological Association conference in spring 2016.

This is a phenomenal opportunity for club members and our college, as undergraduates rarely have the opportunity to present original research at a conference. It is even less common for community college students.

The topic of our study is “Social Life at a Community College.” We are looking for 70 to 80 volunteers, between 18 and 25 years old, to participate in small focus groups of 6 to 8 people.
You are being asked to participate in this study because you all are students at a community college. Your participation is voluntary and you are free to answer any questions you’d like, to withdraw your consent and/or to discontinue participation at any time without penalty.

Participation will require only about 15 minutes of your time. The focus groups are scheduled for Mondays, Dec. 7 and Dec. 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. You must be available for assignment to a group during these time periods.

As a thank you, participants will be entered into a drawing for free movie tickets when they arrive for their focus group. We will be giving away five tickets.

If you have any questions or you would like to participate in our study, please send an e-mail to hvccpsych@gmail.com. Thank you, and I hope that you consider supporting us with this project!
