In June of 2023, Hudson Valley Community College became a member of the UNESCO-UNEVOC Network, which is “UNESCO’s designated centre for technical and vocational education and training (TVET), UNESCO-UNEVOC supports Member States in their efforts to strengthen and upgrade their TVET systems”. We held our Inauguration Event in April of 2024.
The UNESCO-UNEVOC TVET Events Calendar “provides an overview of conferences, seminars, workshops, and other TVET events that are relevant on a global or regional level”. Below please find information taken directly from the calendar, about an upcoming event, that may be of interest to members of the campus community.
Webinar: Open Educational Resources in Vocational Education and Training, a leverage for inclusion and innovation
Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. EST
The objective of the webinar, organized jointly by ETF, UNESCO-UNEVOC and ICDE, is to build capacity of VET leaders and practitioners on the use of Open Educational Resources (OER), as a way to increase the innovation potential and inclusion of their educational offer. During the webinar, the concept of OER will be introduced and exemplified through some successful practices of VET schools that are using OER in their daily work, followed by a discussion on how to further promote the use of such resources in TVET.
