Webinar today (June 15) — Qualification Quagmire: Closing Upstate NY’s Workforce Training Gap

 

All interested faculty and staff are invited to join Western Governors University and  the Siena College Research Institute on Tuesday, June 15 at noon for a free webinar on the crucial role of education in workforce preparation and retention.

The event — Qualification Quagmire: Closing Upstate NY’s Workforce Training Gap — will include a keynote by Don Levy, SCRI director, on the results of the 2021 Upstate New York Business Leader Survey, followed by a panel discussion on the needs of businesses in Upstate New York and emerging solutions, including curricular innovations and industry partnerships.

Panelists will be Rebecca L. Watts, regional vice president, Western Governors University; Penny C. Hill, HVCC’s dean of Economic Development and Workforce Initiatives, and Heather Briccetti, president and CEO, The Business Council of New York State. Casey Seiler, editor of the Albany Times Union, will be moderator.
