Spring 2019 Extended Hours
Monday – Thursday: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday: by special appointment
The Center for Access and Assistive Technology would like to take this opportunity to welcome you back and to remind you of the services we provide to students, staff and faculty with disabilities at Hudson Valley Community College.
Extended Hours
Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 22, the CAAT will continue to have extended hours during the academic semester. These extended hours give students, faculty and staff an opportunity to utilize our adaptive computer lab, receive training on the assistive technology, testing accommodations and to provide evening students and faculty access to our services.
New Testing Process
Over the semester break, the CAAT updated its testing procedures in order to improve delivery of testing services, as well as to ensure compliance with applicable laws regarding testing accommodations and processes.
Here is what to expect:
Students seeking testing accommodations with the CAAT will request a seat via an online reservation system on our CAAT Services web page. Once students make a request for test proctoring, the instructor will automatically receive an email notification with the student’s reservation details. The message will include a link to the CAAT’s secure system where instructors can upload their assessments and provide proctoring instructions, similar to the previous Proctor Checklist form.
The entire online process for both student and staff is password protected and encrypted. We will continue to return exams in the same manner as before, via instructor pick-up or student drop-off.
CAAT Publications
The following brochures are available: Center for Access and Assistive Technology, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and Policies & Guidelines for Alternative Testing Services. Please contact us at 518-629-7154 and we will mail them to you. These publications provide helpful information for college faculty and staff, to ensure access to college programs and activities for individuals with disabilities.
