The Division of Workforce Development and Community Education is pleased to offer a Welding Basics class.
This 24-hour, non-credit course will introduce students to the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process. Virtual reality welding systems will also be utilized to allow students to learn the required skills more quickly compared to traditional methods. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be issued a certificate from the Division of Workforce Development and Community Education.
This course is offered at no cost as part of the Offshore Wind Training Institute: Enhanced Metal Fabrication Pathways for the Offshore Wind Industry in the Capital Region. Eligible students must reside at a street address that meets the disadvantaged community criteria as defined by the Climate Justice Working Group.
