The CCT team provides career, employment and college transfer counseling, information, and resources to HVCC students and alumni. We are open Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening appointments available upon request.

In addition to meeting individually with a CCT counselor, students can:

  • Tune in to a CCT information session (career exploration,  job search strategies, college transfer & more).
  • Meet with transfer reps from four-year schools through our Virtual Advisor Visits.
  • Receive a Resume Review (cover letters too) —  from formatting to wording, we’ll share our pro tips.
  • Drop in (virtually) on Walk-In Wednesdays — ask a question, tell us your employment or college transfer plans, or just say hi!
  • Practice Interview Skills — Practice makes perfect and we are a friendly staff invested in your success.
  • Follow us on social mediaWe tweet and post almost daily to Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn!
  • Connect with employers during our Recruiter on Campus events. We work with many local employers who want to hire HVCC students.
  • Learn about Articulation Agreements (a great tool for transfer planning). We have hundreds on file – learn what HVCC programs have formal transfer agreements with 4-year schools.
  • Use the free Online Job Bank, Symplicity — easy access to hundreds of jobs and announcements about local hiring events and opportunities.

Career/College Transfer counseling involves meeting with a counselor by phone or Zoom. Our goal is to help students:

  • increase their self-awareness to enhance career and college exploration and decision making
  • identify and obtain resources to accomplish post-HVCC goals
  • develop an action plan, stay on the path and make wise adjustments along the way

A CCT counselor may recommend an interest or strengths assessment to help facilitate career planning. Career and college transfer planning processes and we are here to help at any time along that journey.

Access any of our services by calling the office (518) 629-7326, sending us an email at cce@hvcc.edu, or dropping in virtually on Walk-In Wednesdays.
