WMHT Educational Telecommunications created three videos during a day-long Girls In STEM event held in April at the college’s TEC-SMART facility.
The event introduced girls in grades four through eight, along with their parents and community volunteers, to the exciting educational and career opportunities in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). The 200-plus participants heard from women working in science and technology with GLOBALFOUNDRIES, GE, Cisco and the Society of Women Engineers, who encouraged the girls to pursue STEM education.
WMHT’s videos now are available online and give a good overview of the event, including some great interviews. Student posters that were created by the girls also can be seen.
