This is a great way for students to learn more about a career in renewable energy or faculty to learn more about how they can integrate sustainability into their own curriculum and lives.

WRISE week is July 21 – 27, 2024 and this year, we’re celebrating with Sustainability in Bloom: Historic Home Tour and Sustainability Social! Join us for a unique tour of the historic Peters-Lockrow farmhouse in Clifton Park, transformed into a net-zero energy home! Local WRISE member and property owner Joanne Coons will guide us through the home’s transformation and share how she and her husband, Paul, honored the past while looking to the future with design innovations during the home’s revitalization. Throughout the project they had three goals in mind: maintain historic integrity, utilize green building practices, and achieve net-zero energy. The property has undergone significant rehabilitation and has become a NYSERDA case study for net-zero homes.

This event will begin with a tour followed by a Q&A session. Afterwards, we’ll have food, drinks, and plenty of time to mingle in the garden (weather permitting).
