The women’s basketball team (6-6) defeated Herkimer County Community College (6-4), 69-66, in overtime on Monday evening.
Free-throw shooting down the stretch helped lead the Vikings to the overtime win over the Generals. Kelly Kell (Kingston/Kingston) hit seven free-throws and Erica Houle (Shaker/Latham) converted on four scoring all 11 points from the line in overtime. Kell led the Vikings with 26 points and Houle added another 12. Houle also extended her streak of hitting at least one three-pointer in every game this season.
The Vikings next game is Saturday, Jan. 7 at 1 p.m. when they travel to Cayuga Community College.
