Women’s Soccer Loses to Ranked Herkimer

The Hudson Valley Community College women’s soccer team (3-2) rode a three-game winning-streak into its matchup with NJCAA number-nine ranked Herkimer County Community College on Saturday. The Lady Vikings came away with a 2-0 loss as a game-tying goal was called off on a controversial call.

Hudson Valley competed and controlled the tempo for the majority of the first-half before giving up a goal at the 42-minute mark of the first-half. Hudson Valley came out of the locker room motivated and put together a great goal that eventually would be called off due to a questionable handball violation against the Lady Vikings with 13 minutes remaining in the game. Herkimer countered with its own goal run moments later, putting the game away, 2-0.

The women travel today to Syracuse to play Onondaga Community College.
