Women’s tennis completes second consecutive perfect season

 

The women’s tennis team (7-0) defeated SUNY Adirondack (1-5), 7-2, on Saturday afternoon. Below are the official results of the match:

Singles
1st Flight: Jenna Brophy (Greenwich/Greenwich), W (6-1, 6-3)
2nd Flight: Marie Visker (Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake/Burnt Hills), L (3-6, 1-6)
3rd Flight: Sarah Nuss (Averill Park/Wynantskill), W (6-0, 6-0)
4th Flight: Kristen Parker (Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake/Scotia), W (6-0, 6-0)
5th Flight: Elizabeth Batchelder (Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake/Burnt Hills), W (6-0, 6-1)
6th Flight: Ciarra Hogan (Columbia/Wynantskill), W (6-3, 6-4)

Doubles
1st Flight: Jenna Brophy (Greenwich/Greenwich) & Marie Visker (Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake/Burnt Hills), L (4-8)
2nd Flight: Sarah Nuss (Averill Park/Wynantskill) & Elizabeth Batchelder (Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake/Burnt Hills), W (8-1)

The women have won back-to-back Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference Championships, while going undefeated in both seasons. After finishing runner-up last year at Regionals, the Vikings look to capture the Region III Championship next weekend in Delhi.
