Women’s Volleyball Falls Short at Corning Invitational

 

The women’s volleyball team (12-9) defeated Jefferson Community College while losing to SUNY Delhi and Alfred State in the Corning Invitational on Saturday.

SUNY Delhi, a very strong team, dominated most of the game. The Vikings did well, posting scores similar to other outings this season vs. SUNY Delhi. The final score for this game was 15-25, 12-25. Baleigh Morrow (Ravena/ Selkirk) finished with seven kills, three digs and a hitting percentage of .160.

In the second game of the day against Jefferson Community College, the Vikings came out strong and played consistently throughout the match for a 27-25, 25-22 victory. Billie Serfilippi (Catholic Central/ Cohoes) had nine assists and 12 digs and Baleigh Morrow (Ravena/ Selkirk) had four kills and 11 digs.

Hudson Valley was defeated in the third game against Alfred State with a score of 9-25, 15-25. Baleigh Morrow (Ravena/ Selkirk) led the Vikings again with four kills, no errors and a .222 hitting percentage.
