Workforce Development seeking new courses and new instructors

Have you ever considered teaching for the college’s Workforce Development Institute? We will be happy to consider your suggestions for new, non-credit bearing courses to add to our current selection (which can be found at our newly-updated WDI web site on the Course Schedules page). Our training programs are designed to prepare people for new jobs, to stay up-to-date in their current jobs, and to reach their career goals.

Although most of our programs are scheduled for evenings and Saturdays, we also specialize in providing staff development training for businesses, at their convenience. We are flexible in terms of training location, and we also work around our instructors’ availability, especially since many of them also teach credit courses here at the college.

Our goal is to provide fast-track training for people of all ages, who need new skills. Many of our non-credit courses are related to the college’s credit programs, and since our department is part of the Office of Continuing Education, Summer Sessions and Workforce Development, we naturally also encourage our students to consider a certificate or degree program when they are ready.

So, whether you would like to teach enhancement courses that would help round out a student’s resume, or if you have an idea for something that is brand new to us, like our new Drone Flight Systems course, please let us know! Email your idea to us at wdi@hvcc.edu, or call 629-7338 to schedule an appointment to discuss it.
