The use of social media and websites to present visual arts exhibits continues to grow as coronavirus pandemic social distancing restrictions keep art galleries closed throughout the United States.
Thesis Shows 2020, a one-click directory of thesis exhibitions by art degree candidates at colleges from across North America and Canada, featured works on its Instagram by Angela Lohaus and Maggie Schwind, students from the Fine Arts, Theatre Arts and Digital Media Department. The two are among 12 artists in “The Before, The After and In Between: Advanced Study in Drawing and Painting End-of-Year Exhibit,” a virtual exhibition available through Aug. 31 at hvcc.edu/teachingallery.

Assistant Professor and Teaching Gallery Director Tara Fracalossi was a featured artist on an Instagram post by Collar Works, a downtown Troy gallery. Fracalossi’s work is included in the gallery’s inaugural Flat Files, a curated exhibit available on the “shop” tab at collarworks.org.
Fine Arts Professor Thomas Lail’s recent “post-shutdown” work is featured on StayHome.MakeWork, an Instagram feed created by the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at the SUNY College at New Paltz.
