Ferrer (Chente), age 83, died at Conception Hospital in San Germ\u00e1n, Puerto Rico, on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017. The cause was chronic disease after intensive care.<\/p>\n<p>Born May 28, 1934, in Lajas, Puerto Rico, he lived in San German, Puerto Rico. He ran his own business as a investment contractor and entrepreneur until retiring in 1990. Chente was a member of the Leon Club and a longtime volunteer at the American Cancer Association.\u00a0 He recieved the National Service Medal following his service in the United States Army, Unit APO 21.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Raquel Qui\u00f1ones-Ferrer, his daughters, Lynmar Ferrer-Nazario (V\u00edctor), Karen Ferrer-Muniz (Felix), and his son, Vincent Ferrer-Qui\u00f1ones; his grandchildren, Valerie, Gabriel, Vincent, Sebastian, Carolina. He was the youngest of 13 brothers and sisters.<\/p>\n<p>Services were held at Avil\u00e9s Memorial Home on Thursday, Oct. 19 in San German, Puerto Rico.
