Staats’ widowed mother and seven children led a perilous life and survived, in part, only due to the generosity of an unwed uncle and maiden aunt.

He followed that with his second book, “Campus Capers on the Hudson,” which provides humorous anecdotes from the author’s nearly 50 years as a high school/college teacher in 2013.

His third and final book in the series, “Aging Suddenly at 83 On the Hudson” analyzes the often hilarious influences which led the now 85-year old writer to suddenly confront old age.

All three books are available at Amazon.com.
