The Center for Effective Teaching (CET) is offering credit for the following workshop that will occur immediately after Spring Break.<\/p>\n

Every day, many Hudson Valley Community College faculty and staff experience some aspect of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act. While many faculty and staff have at least a general understanding of FERPA, there are some concerning situations on handling student information.<\/p>\n

LeRoy Rooker<\/strong>, former director of the Department of Education\u2019s Family Compliance Office, addresses some of the following questions and concerns about FERPA: defining an education record, parental access to student records, identifying students using electronic mediums, financial aid, student behavior concerns, HIPPA vs. FERPA, and much more.<\/p>\n

\nAfternoon<\/em>: 1:15 to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n
