This investment will help provide reduced course fees for students interested in solar job training, with a focus on bringing more<strong> women, veterans and underrepresented people<\/strong> into the industry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PV Installation Basics is eligible for this funding!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our NEW, 20-hour course answers the needs of local PV company owners who want trained, entry-level workers with basic PV skills.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>As an introduction to Solar Energy, students will learn to safely and effectively perform installation tasks as a trained, entry-level worker does in the field. Course topics will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic electrical safety<\/li>\n<li>Basic measuring<\/li>\n<li>Construction safety<\/li>\n<li>Electrical grounding and bonding<\/li>\n<li>Hand-held power tools<\/li>\n<li>PV racking systems<\/li>\n<li>PV module handling and installation<\/li>\n<li>Rooftop safety<\/li>\n<li>Weather proofing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Schedule:<\/b>\u00a0<strong>May 19\u00a0&#8211; June 2, 2018<br \/>\n<\/strong>Saturday, May 19 and May 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.<br \/>\nSaturday, June 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Hudson Valley Community College Main Campus<br \/>\n<strong>Tuition:<\/strong>\u00a0$375<br \/>\n<strong>Prerequisites:<\/strong>\u00a0Minimum 10th grade-level reading and math skills.
