Degree Program \u2013 submitted by Anthony Kossmann<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This proposal request that the NIT Program be discontinued.\u00a0 The program was deactivated Spring of 2009.\u00a0 The department has seen no evidence of support to reinstate the program and therefore proposes to discontinue the program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.2 Change in Prerequisite \u2013 AUTO 140 Fuel Systems \u2013 submitted by Anthony Kossmann<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This proposal requests the addition of AUTO 125 Automotive Electricity as a prerequisite for AUTO 140.\u00a0 A student without the electrical background gained in AUTO 125 is at a severe disadvantage when taking AUTO 140.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.3 Change in Catalog Description and 25% or more Change in Course Content \u2013 TELT 220 Telecommunications II \u2013 submitted by Anthony Kossmann<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This proposal requests a change in content recommended by Verizon Next Step to include relevant an updated course topics that are directly applicable in the telecommunications field and the needs of the company.\u00a0 The change in course content necessitated the change in the catalog description.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.4 Change in Catalog Description and 25% or more Change in Course Content \u2013 TELT 230 Telecommunications III \u2013 submitted by<br \/>\nAnthony Kossmann<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This proposal requests a change in content recommended by Verizon Next Step to include relevant an updated course topics that are directly applicable in the telecommunications field and the needs of the company.\u00a0 The change in course content necessitated the change in the catalog description.<\/p>\n<p>3.5 <strong>New Course \u2013 TELT 203 Network Infrastructure &#8211; submitted by Anthony Kossmann<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The proposed new course is part of the Verizon Telecommunications program.\u00a0 In this new course students will practice the analysis and application of physical level services and methodologies as applied to the telecommunications industry.<\/p>\n<p>3.6 <strong>Change in Degree Requirements \u2013 Telecommunications Technology \u2013 Verizon A.A.S. Degree Program &#8211; submitted by Anthony Kossmann<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The proposal requests that TELT 205 Electronic Communications be removed as a requirement and TELT 203 Network Infrastructure be added as a requirement.\u00a0 Topics in TELT 203 are more relevant and directly applicable to work in the field of telecommunications.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.7 Change in Course Title \u2013 ASLN 100 American Sign Language I \u2013 submitted by Dr. Maria Palmara<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This proposal requests a change in title to American Sign Language and Deaf Culture I.\u00a0 This title corresponds with all other foreign language titles in the department.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.8 Change in Course Title \u2013 ASLN 101 American Sign Language II \u2013 submitted by Dr. Maria Palmara<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This proposal requests a change in title to American Sign Language and Deaf Culture II.\u00a0 This title corresponds with all other foreign language titles in the department.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.9 New Course \u2013 ENGL 154 \u2013 Creative Writing: Non-Fiction \u2013 submitted by Dr. Maria Palmara<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The proposed new course will familiarize students with the writing skills necessary to produce creative non-fiction which may range from memoir and profiles of people and places, to nature, food, and travel writing.\u00a0 The proposed course will be an English elective open to all students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.10 Change in Course Title and Course Description \u2013 MATH 220 Differential Equations \u2013 submitted by Sue Kutryb<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This proposal requests a change in title to Calculus IV: Differential Equations.\u00a0 The proposed change in course description is more clearly defines the topics covered in this course.\u00a0 The proposed new title and description will make it clearer that this is the fourth course in the calculus sequence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.11 Change in Credit Hours \u2013 XRAY 226 Clinical I Education V \u2013 submitted by Margaret Ewart<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The proposal requests a change in credit hours from 7 credits to 4 credits.\u00a0 XRAY 226 is currently 40 lab hours per week, for 7 weeks for a total of 280 contact hours.\u00a0 The proposal is to reduce the number of weeks to 4, still maintaining 40 lab hours for a total of 160 contact hours.\u00a0 The proposed change will allow students to be released into the workforce three weeks earlier and be more competitive.\u00a0 The change will not negatively affect the overall quality of the student\u2019s education as this course is the culmination of material covered in the program as well as a chance to perfect their skills.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.12 Change in Course Description, Course Title, and 25% or More Change in Content \u2013 XRAY 240 Cross Sectional Anatomy Related to Medical Imaging &#8211; submitted by Margaret Ewart<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The proposal requests Introduction to CT and Cross-Sectional Anatomy as the title.\u00a0 Computed Tomography will be added as new content including theory, physics, contrast material and protocols to the current Cross-Sectional content.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.13<\/strong> <strong>Change in Degree Requirements \u2013 Radiologic Technology A.A.S. degree Program \u2013 submitted by Margaret Ewart<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The proposal requests that XRAY 240 Introduction to CT and Cross-Sectional Anatomy be added as a required course.\u00a0 It also reflects the change in credit hours for XRAY 226 from 7 credit hours to 4 credit hours.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.14 Change in prerequisite and prerequisite or corequisite \u2013 CIVL 233 Civil Engineering Capstone \u2013 submitted by Dr. Christine LaPlante<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The proposal requests that CIVL 111 Engineering Applications be removed as a prerequisite.\u00a0 It also requests the addition of CIVL 212 Hydraulics and Drainage and CIVL 236 Highway Construction Planning and Methods as pre or corequisites.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.15 Change in Prerequisites \u2013 CIVL 234 Transportation and Highway Systems Analysis &#8211; submitted by Dr. Christine LaPlante<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The proposal requests a change in the current prerequisites which include MATH 110 Intermediate Algebra OR MATH 150 College Algebra and Trigonometry to MATH 150 College Algebra with Trigonometry or higher, CIVL 111 Civil Engineering Applications OR by permission of department chair.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.16 Change in Prerequisite \u2013 CIVL 236 Highway Construction Planning and Methods &#8211; submitted by Dr. Christine LaPlante<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The proposal request that MATH 150 College Algebra with Trigonometry or higher, or permission of department chair be added to the current prerequisite of CNST 103 Blueprint Reading and CIVL 111 Civil Engineering Applications.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.17 Change in Prerequisites \u2013 CNST 202 Construction Planning and Control &#8211; submitted by Dr. Christine LaPlante<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The proposal requests that CNST 103 Blueprint Reading for Technologies be added as a prerequisite where currently no prerequisite exists.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.18 Change in prerequisite \u2013 CNST 230 Construction Management Seminar &#8211; submitted by Dr. Christine LaPlante<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The proposal requests that CNST 103 Blueprint Reading for Technologies be added as a prerequisite where currently no prerequisite exists.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.19 Change in Prerequisites, and Prerequisite or Corequisite \u2013 CNST 239 Construction Capstone &#8211;
