A national dialogue has been developed by the National Issues Forum <\/a>around key issues in higher education called: Shaping Our Future — How Should Higher Education Help Us Create The Society We Want? <\/em>This discussion is taking place in communities and colleges throughout the United States, as citizens discuss the role of higher education in America\u2019s future. Hudson Valley Community College<\/strong> will be host to this discussion as part of a public deliberation onSaturday, March 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.<\/p>\n We invite you and your students to join this discussion and not only contribute to the conversation about the future of higher education but learn about the process of public deliberation\u00a0 — a dyanamic movement aimed at solving the politically tough questions of the day through civic involvement. Consider having students participate and then write a short reflective piece on their experience —\u00a0possible extra credit. Students from other area colleges also\u00a0 have been invited.<\/p>\n This discussion will take place this Saturday,\u00a0March 9<\/strong>from10 a.m. to 1 p.m.<\/strong> in the BTC Meeting Rooms.
