The Center for Access and Assistive Technology (CAAT) would like to take this opportunity to welcome you back and to remind you of the services we provide to students, staff and faculty with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>The CAAT office is\u00a0located on the\u00a0first floor of the Siek Campus Center,\u00a0room 130.<\/p>\n<p>When you get a chance, please stop by and see our state of the art Adaptive Technology Center and Accessible Facility!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fall 2018 Extended Hours<br \/>\n<\/strong>Monday &#8211; Thursday:\u00a0 8 a.m. &#8211; 7 p.m.<br \/>\nFriday: 8 a.m. &#8211; 5 p.m.<br \/>\nSaturday: by special appointment<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Extended Hours<br \/>\n<\/strong>Begin Tuesday, Sept. 4 and continue throughout the academic semester. These extended hours give students, faculty and staff an opportunity to utilize our adaptive computer lab, receive training on the assistive technology, testing accommodations and to provide evening students and faculty access to the CAAT office.<\/li>\n<li><strong>CAAT Publications<br \/>\n<\/strong>The following brochures are available: Center for Access and Assistive Technology, Deaf and Hard of Hearing,\u00a0and Policies &amp; Guidelines for Alternative Testing Services. Please contact\u00a0the CAAT office at ext. 7154 and\u00a0we will mail\u00a0them to you. These publications provide\u00a0 information for college faculty and staff, to ensure access to programs and activities for individuals with disabilities.<\/li>\n<li>Please note that the <strong>Learning Disabilities<\/strong> office and the <strong>CAAT<\/strong> office have merged and all disability services are located in one office. Donna Totaro is the Assistant Director\/LD Specialist and is happy to assist you with any questions you have regarding learning disabilities.<\/li>\n<li><strong> Handicapped Parking<\/strong><br \/>\nThere are currently 105 handicapped spaces throughout the campus. Please see the locations below:<br \/>\n&#8212; B-lot located on North Drive has 24 spaces<br \/>\n&#8212; C-lot located near the student pavilion has 14 spaces<br \/>\n&#8212; E-lot located on South Drive has 4 spaces to access the Joe Bruno Stadium<br \/>\n&#8212; G-lot located on upper South Drive has 8 additional spaces for access to the Joe Bruno Stadium<br \/>\n&#8212; H-lot located on the south side of Williams Road has 8 spaces<br \/>\n&#8212; J-lot located near Williams Road has 6 spaces for access to Cogan Hall and the Daycare Center; there is also 1 additional space near the side entrance to the Daycare Center<br \/>\n&#8212; N-lot located behind the Campus Center has 11 spaces<br \/>\n&#8212; Visitors Lot on Holliday Drive has 4 spaces<br \/>\n&#8212; Parking Garage has 9 spaces<br \/>\n&#8212; North side of the Conway Ice Rink has 3 spaces<br \/>\n&#8211;Fire lane has 4 spaces for access to Brahan and the Science Center<br \/>\n&#8212; Lapan Hall has 2 spaces<\/li>\n<li><strong>Scooters<\/strong><br \/>\nThe CAAT office has nine electric scooters available for loan to students, staff and faculty, based on individual needs and documented disabilities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Emergency Evacuation<\/strong><br \/>\nDesignated evacuation chairs have been strategically placed in buildings throughout the entire campus in the event of an emergency situation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Distance Learning\/Blackboard<\/strong><br \/>\nPlease contact the Distance Learning Department in the Bulmer Telecommunications Center (BTC), room 1042 or phone (518) 629-7070, if you have any questions regarding adjustment of settings within Blackboard to provide accommodations. The CAAT and the Distance Learning Department work collaboratively to support\u00a0 faculty and students with reasonable accommodations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have any questions or concerns regarding testing policies, special scheduling, or about accommodating a student in your class or lab, please call us at (518) 629-7154 or TDD 518-629-7596.
