National Rankings:<\/strong> Women\u2019s Soccer (8), Men\u2019s Cross Country (3), Women\u2019s Cross Country (2)<\/p>\n Cross Country:\u00a0<\/strong>The Hudson Valley Community College men’s and women’s cross-country teams performed well at the Fred Pavlich Invitational at Bard College on Saturday morning as the men placed fifth overall and the women finished sixth.<\/p>\n The women’s team had three runners place inside the top-30 of the race with\u00a0Mercedes Planavsky, leading the way. Planavsky finished eighth overall with a time of 25:54 in the 6K race.<\/p>\n The men’s team placed fifth overall and had two runners place inside the top-20 with\u00a0Jared Craw leading the way. Craw crossed the finish line in second place with a time of 28:21 in the 8K race.\u00a0Holden Maynard finished 19th with an official time of 30:18.<\/p>\n Football:\u00a0<\/strong>The Hudson Valley football team (0-4) was defeated, 22-20, at home against East Coast Prep on Saturday afternoon.\u00a0Halijah “Pooh Bear” McClean\u00a0led the Vikings with 113 yards rushing and three touchdowns.<\/p>\n Men\u2019s Soccer:\u00a0<\/strong>Hudson Valley men’s soccer (4-3) were defeated by Mohawk Valley in a hard-fought 1-0 match at home on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n Women\u2019s Soccer<\/strong>: Hudson Valley women’s soccer (6-1) dropped their first match of the season, 1-0, to Mohawk Valley on Wednesday evening at home.<\/p>\n Women\u2019s Tennis:<\/strong> The women’s tennis team won their second straight match, defeating Mohawk Valley, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n The Vikings won two of the five singles matches and then swept the doubles matches to secure the match win. The Vikings’ Jacqueline Bornt\u00a0won her match in straight sets as the team’s No.1 seed. She defeated Autumn Fallon 6-0, 6-0 to remain unbeaten in singles action.\u00a0Later, Bornt and\u00a0Miranda Morrison teamed up as the Vikings’ No.1 doubles team to defeat Mohawk Valley’s Fallon and Taylor Johnson, 8-2.<\/p>\n Bornt was named the NJCAA Region 3 Player of the Week after defeating Onondaga and Broome as the Vikings’ No.1 singles player last weekend.<\/p>\n Volleyball:\u00a0<\/strong>The Hudson Valley women’s volleyball team finished the week with a 1-4 record.
