Cross Country<\/strong>: The Hudson Valley Community College men’s and women’s cross-country teams both won at the Herkimer Invitational. Mercedes Planavsky and Jared Craw each won their respective races on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n Football<\/strong>: Football held its Military Appreciation Day as the Vikings welcomed Army Prep on Saturday. All Veterans received free admission, an American Flag ribbon pin and were honored during the halftime recognition ceremony at midfield.<\/p>\n Men\u2019s Soccer<\/strong>: The men\u2019s soccer team completed an undefeated weekend and finished the week with a 2-1 record. The Vikings defeated Erie, 3-2, in overtime on Saturday and followed it up with a 5-0 win on Sunday at Niagara. Men\u2019s soccer\u2019s only defeat came on Wednesday at No.1 ranked Herkimer. Women\u2019s Tennis:<\/strong> The women\u2019s tennis team closed out the regular season with matches against Broome, Onondaga and Herkimer. As a team, the Vikings finished the week 1-2. Jacqueline Bornt won all three of her matches and remains undefeated as the Vikings top-seeded player. Women\u2019s tennis is sending Bornt and Miranda Morrison to participate in the NJCAA Region 3 Championship Tournament at Onondaga on Oct. 6-7.<\/p>\n Volleyball:<\/strong> The Hudson Valley Community College women’s volleyball team finished the week with a 1-4 record. \nWomen\u2019s Soccer<\/strong>: The women\u2019s soccer team finished the week with a 1-1-1 record and finished the weekend with a 8-0 win at Niagara. Brooke Clough recorded the hat trick and Sydnee Metzold added four assists in the Vikings win. The Vikings lost, 5-0, at No.2 ranked Erie on Saturday and split a 2-2 tie with No.4 ranked Herkimer on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
