The Hudson Valley Community College men’s and women’s cross-country teams dominated the field at the Mountain Valley Conference Championships on Saturday morning as both teams claimed the Conference Championships in their respective division.<\/p>\n
The women’s team had all six runners cross the finish line inside the top-eight positions as they claimed the Mountain Valley Championship.\u00a0Mercedes Planavsky\u00a0(Ballston Spa\/Ballston Spa), led the way for the Vikings as she won the meet with a final time of 21:02.6.\u00a0Sarah Rosenberger\u00a0(home school\/Saratoga Springs) crossed the line in third place with a time of 22:15.1 and\u00a0Leigha Gaschel (Cairo\/Cairo-Durham) finished fourth overall with a final time of 23:41.1.<\/p>\n
Anna Clarke\u00a0(Bethlehem\/Bethlehem) and\u00a0Ashley Martinez\u00a0(Red Hook\/Red Hook) round out the final scoring for the women’s team. Clarke placed fifth overall with a time of 24:27.9 and Martinez finished sixth with a time of 25:18.8. Hanna White finished eighth overall with a final time of 25: 57.3.<\/p>\n
The men’s team placed first overall and claimed the Mountain Valley Championship as they had all five scoring members finish in the top-10 with\u00a0Jared Craw\u00a0(Colonie\/Colonie) leading the way. Craw won the race as he crossed the finish line with an official time of 22:44.2.\u00a0Holden Maynard\u00a0(Rotterdam\/Mohonasen) placed third with a time of 23:36.7.<\/p>\n
James Blaauboer\u00a0(Clifton Park\/Shenendehowa) crossed the line next in fifth place and recorded a final time of 24:02.2.\u00a0Steven Lindsay (Rotterdam\/Clayton A. Bouton) finished eighth and had a time of 24:32.7 and\u00a0Miles James\u00a0(Rochester\/Churchville-Chili) closed out the Vikings scoring with an 11th-place finish with a time of 25:27.2.<\/p>\n
The cross-country program is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 27 for the NJCAA Region 3 Championships hosted by Mohawk Valley at 11 a.m.<\/p>\n
