The Workforce Development Institute is offering a Security Guard 8-hour Pre-Assignment<\/strong> training class on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018<\/strong>.\u00a0This is an 8-hour course required by New York State as the first step in obtaining a security guard registration card from the NYS Department of State.<\/p>\n The course provides a general overview of the duties and responsibilities of a security guard. Topics covered in this course include the Role of the Security Guard, Legal Powers and Limitations, Emergency Situations, Communications and Public Relations, Access Control, and Ethics and Conduct.<\/p>\n Security Guard\u00a0Pre-Assignment 8-Hour Training<\/strong> Prerequisites:<\/strong>\u00a0Applicants must be 18 years of age, must not have been convicted of a serious criminal offense, and must be a citizen or resident alien of the United States.
