Faculty who have tests<\/strong><\/span> scheduled for next week (Dec. 10-14) may have students who require additional time in which to take a test, or who can only take a test during a time-frame other than what has been set for the test.<\/p>\n

In our current version<\/strong><\/span> of\u00a0Blackboard<\/em>, the\u00a0Test Availability Exceptions\u00a0<\/strong>tool allows you to readily accommodate the needs of such students.<\/p>\n

To access<\/strong><\/span> the\u00a0Test Availability Exceptions\u00a0<\/strong>tool, select\u00a0Edit Test Options\u00a0<\/strong>for the test in which you need to make one or more test availability exceptions (How do I edit the Test<\/strong><\/em> Options?<\/strong><\/a>). In the Test Options\u00a0<\/strong>window that opens, scroll down to the section on\u00a0TEST AVAILABILITY EXCEPTIONS<\/strong>, and select the\u00a0Add User or Group\u00a0<\/strong>button:<\/p>\n

In the<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Add User or Group\u00a0<\/strong>window that opens, select the check-box for any student for whom you need to make a test availability exception, and then select\u00a0Submit<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

In the<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Test Availability Exceptions\u00a0<\/strong>window, you will now see a list of the student(s) for whom you wish to create test availability exceptions.\u00a0 You can use the\u00a0Attempts\u00a0<\/strong>control to change the number of attempts that the student(s) may make on the test, while the\u00a0Timer\u00a0<\/strong>control allows you to change the amount of time available to the student(s) for taking the test:<\/p>\n

Finally,\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>you can use the\u00a0Availability\u00a0<\/strong>control to change the Display After<\/strong> and Display Until<\/strong> dates\/times during which the test is available to the students:<\/p>\n

Once you’ve set<\/strong><\/span> the test availability exceptions for your test, select the\u00a0Submit\u00a0<\/strong>button to save those exceptions and exit the\u00a0Test Options\u00a0<\/strong>window.<\/p>\n
