The Office of Workforce Development\u00a0 is offering a\u00a0Security Guard 8-hour Pre-Assignment\u00a0training class on\u00a0Saturday, Feb. 9.\u00a0This is an 8-hour course required by New York State as the first step in obtaining a security guard registration card from the NYS Department of State.<\/p>\n
The course provides a general overview of the duties and responsibilities of a security guard. Topics covered in this course include the Role of the Security Guard, Legal Powers and Limitations, Emergency Situations, Communications and Public Relations, Access Control, and Ethics and Conduct.<\/p>\n
Security Guard\u00a0Pre-Assignment 8-Hour Training<\/strong> Prerequisites:\u00a0Applicants must be 18 years of age, must not have been convicted of a serious criminal offense, and must be a citizen or resident alien of the United States.
