Miles, president of\u00a0 Westchester\u00a0 Community College.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Increasing the Adoption of<br \/>\nOpen Educational Resources <\/em><em>at Hudson Valley Community College<\/em><br \/>\n<em>with Karen Ferrer-Muniz<\/em><br \/>\n<em>SUNY Hispanic Leadership Institute Fellow-in-Residence<\/em><br \/>\n<em>in the WCC President\u2019s Office<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 4 p.m.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Gateway Building, Room 131<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Westchester Community College, SUNY<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Karen Ferrer-Muniz is the Dean of Retention and Instructional Support Services for Hudson Valley Community College, where she oversees advisement, developmental learning, instructional support services and retention. Dean Ferrer-Muniz holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Puerto Rico, a Master of Arts in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, and she is a Ph.D. Candidate in the University at Albany\u2019s Latin American &amp; Caribbean Studies Program. Under her leadership, she has partnered with faculty and staff to increase the adoption of open educational resources, which has led to students saving over $250,000 in textbook purchases.
