{"id":13758,"date":"2020-02-06T12:45:50","date_gmt":"2020-02-06T17:45:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/2019-novel-coronavirus-2\/"},"modified":"2020-02-06T12:45:50","modified_gmt":"2020-02-06T17:45:50","slug":"2019-novel-coronavirus-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/2019-novel-coronavirus-2\/","title":{"rendered":"2019 novel coronavirus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There is currently no vaccine to prevent 2019-nCoV infection (novel coronavirus).<\/p>\n<p>The best way to prevent infection is to avoid being exposed to this virus.<\/p>\n<p>However, as a reminder, the Centers for Disease Control always recommends a variety of measures to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.<\/li>\n<li>If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid close contact with people who are sick.<\/li>\n<li>Stay home when you are sick.<\/li>\n<li>Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.<\/li>\n<li>Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For information about hand washing, see the CDC\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/handwashing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">handwashing website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>These are everyday habits that can help prevent the spread of several viruses.<br \/>\nThe CDC also offers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/travelers\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">information for travelers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Published:<\/strong>\u00a0Thu, 06 Feb 2020 12:45:50 +0000 by\u00a0c.potvingiordano<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; There is currently no vaccine to prevent 2019-nCoV infection (novel coronavirus).
