The Lenox, MA-based Shakespeare & Company brings two of the Bard\u2019s classic plays to the Maureen Stapleton Theatre:<\/p>\n

\u201cMacbeth\u201d<\/strong> — noon to 1:30 p.m. — Tuesday, Feb. 18
\n\u201cThe Comedy of Errors\u201d<\/strong> — noon to 1:30 p.m. — Thursday, Feb. 20<\/p>\n

All are welcome to attend and admission is free! The 90-minute productions are part of the company\u2019s educational touring program and are suitable for ages 12 and up.<\/p>\n

\u201cMacbeth\u201d dramatizes the damaging physical and psychological effects of political ambition on those who seek power for its own sake. \u201cThe Comedy of Errors\u201d is Shakespeare\u2019s shortest play and one of his most farcical comedies brimming with slapstick, mistaken identity, puns and word play.<\/p>\n

These performances mark the 11th year of Shakespeare & Company\u2019s week-long residency at the college when a series of acting and theater arts workshops are offered to students. The residency traditionally includes free performances for the public during the week-long February break observed by most public school districts.<\/p>\n

No advance reservations are needed to attend \u201cMacbeth\u201d or \u201cThe Comedy of Errors.\u201d
