{"id":14555,"date":"2020-08-06T12:00:29","date_gmt":"2020-08-06T16:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/suny-pathways-scholars\/"},"modified":"2020-08-06T12:00:29","modified_gmt":"2020-08-06T16:00:29","slug":"suny-pathways-scholars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/suny-pathways-scholars\/","title":{"rendered":"SUNY Pathways Scholars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Our students have the opportunity to benefit from a newly-established SUNY initiative, and we ask for your help in making them aware due to the small window in which to apply.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0SUNY Pathways Scholars Award program\u00a0will help high-performing students committed to completing their associate\u2019s and bachelor\u2019s degrees in two and four years, respectively, at SUNY Institutions.\u00a0Pathways Scholars will receive\u00a0a total of $500 during their first year to use for non-tuition and fee related expenses ($250 at the start of semester one and, if they remain in good standing, an additional $250 at the start of semester two).\u00a0Upon completion of their associate\u2019s degree and enrollment in a SUNY bachelor\u2019s degree program, Pathways Scholars will receive an additional $1,000 to use for non-tuition related expenses.<\/p>\n<p>To qualify, students must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have graduated from a high school in New York State in 2020 with an average of at least 80%<\/li>\n<li>Enroll for the first time as a full-time student in an associate degree program at a SUNY community college or college of technology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Eligible students will receive an email with instructions to apply through the Foundation\u2019s scholarship portal:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/hvcc.academicworks.com\/opportunities\/1152\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">hvcc.academicworks.com\/opportunities\/1152<\/a>.
