{"id":14680,"date":"2020-09-02T11:55:17","date_gmt":"2020-09-02T15:55:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/wednesdays-words-of-wellness-7\/"},"modified":"2020-09-02T11:55:17","modified_gmt":"2020-09-02T15:55:17","slug":"wednesdays-words-of-wellness-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/wednesdays-words-of-wellness-7\/","title":{"rendered":"Wednesday&#8217;s Words of Wellness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Words of Wellness are resources for students and the college community to access and utilize to improve and maintain their overall wellness.<\/p>\n<p>While the Wellness Center\u2019s Counseling and Wellness Services are available Monday \u2013 Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for counseling, consultation, and referral needs to currently registered students, we wanted to share additional resources that may be beneficial during this time.<\/p>\n<p>Today (Wednesday Sept. 2), we will be sharing resources that focus on self-care. <a href=\"http:\/\/Therapistaid.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Therapistaid.com<\/a> explains that \u201cself-care activities are the things you do to maintain good health and improve well-being. Some self-care activities might already be part of your routine, such as eating regular meals, enjoying a hobby, or spending time with friends. Explore <\/strong>your current level of self-care with the self-care assessment from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/Therapistaid.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Therapistaid.com<\/a>.<br \/>\nThe Self-Care Assessment asks you to think about how frequently, or how well, you are performing various self-care activities. Activities are divided into five categories: physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and professional. Look through<\/strong> the following self-care tip worksheet which provides information on self-care, including a definition and practical tips for using self-care to reduce stress. This gentle, guided meditation takes you to a peaceful place where you will be given a simple, effective exercise to help you relieve anxiety and clear negativity.
