The spring 2021 eSports season kicked off last week as the Athletics Department continues to build upon the program\u2019s success in the fall. We have grown our gaming participation and now are competing in eight different gaming titles.<\/p>\n

We are proud to announce we have successfully started a Vikings eSports Twitch page, where members of the Hudson Valley community, family and friends can watch our Vikings in live action each week. You can visit our Twitch page at https:\/\/www.twitch.tv\/hvccvikings<\/a>. The schedule is subject to change as the NJCAAe allows for game rescheduling, allowing more flexibility to its member institutions.<\/p>\n

MONDAY
\nOverwatch<\/strong> (Live on Twitch at 5 p.m.)
\nWe are competing in the Overwatch game for the first time this year and we started the week off with a 3-0 loss to the MCCC Mustangs. Next Match: The Overwatch team will take on Fort Scott Community College.<\/p>\n

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare<\/strong>
\nCall of Duty: Modern Warfare is another new game for the spring semester. We didn\u2019t get to compete, but earned the \u201cWin by Forfeit\u201d over Monroe Community College. Next Match: The COD:MW team will take on the Matadors from Arizona Western this week.<\/p>\n

TUESDAY
\nSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/strong>
\nThe Vikings top Smash player from the fall semester, Mitchel Clow, returned to compete in the spring semester in an attempt to earn a playoff berth after narrowly missing the cut in the fall. Clow won his first match of the season, defeating Jayden M. from Kingsborough Community College in straight games, 4-0. Next Match: Mitchel Clow will take on Spencer W. from the Gila Monster esports team this week.<\/p>\n

WEDNESDAY
\nCall of Duty: Cold War \u2013 Warzone<\/strong> (Duos; Live on Twitch at 7 p.m.)
\nAnother new addition to the spring 2021 lineup is Call of Duty: Cold War (Duos). We have three teams scheduled to compete in the game this semester. Last week, the Vikings earned wins by all three teams!<\/p>\n

Team 1 (Elijah Harris\/Ryan Closson) Vikings defeated Arizona Western by the score of 2-1. Next Match: vs. Hinds Community College (Team Maroon).
\nTeam 2 (Anthony Coonrad\/Kyle Fortin): HVCC defeated Iowa Central by the score of 2-0. Next Match: vs. Gogebic Samsons.
\nTeam 3 (Josh Hill\/Riley Drew-Cross): The Vikings defeated Nassau Community College\u2019s Team 1 by the score of 2-1. Next Match: Hinds Community College (Team Black).<\/p>\n

Hearthstone<\/strong>
\nOur fourth new game of the semester is a solo game with the Ligori K. leading the way for the Vikings in this solo competition. Ligori won his first match of the season last week, defeating Alexander R. from John Wood Community College. Next Match: \u00a0Ligori is scheduled to take on Madison J. from Finger Lakes Community College.<\/p>\n

THURSDAY
\nRocket League<\/strong> (Live on Twitch at 5 p.m.)
\nWe are returning our most successful team from the fall semester, the Rocket League team, which finished third overall. The Vikings are looking to compete near the top of the country again this semester and kicked the season off with a 4-3 victory over Lackawanna College. Next Match: The Vikings are scheduled to take on the Gila Monster eSports team.<\/p>\n

FRIDAY
\nCall of Duty: Cold War 4v4<\/strong> (Live on Twitch at 5 p.m.)
\nOur fifth new game of the semester is Call of Duty: Cold War (4v4). The Vikings took a 2-0 win over the Madison College WolfPack. Next Match: The Vikings are scheduled to play the HACC Hawks.<\/p>\n

Valorant<\/strong> (Live on Twitch at 7 p.m.)
\nThe Vikings are returning their Valorant team from the fall semester and they have started the spring off strong with a 13-6 win over the Gogebic Samsons last week. Next Match: The Valorant team is scheduled to take on the Bobcats from Bryant & Stratton (WI).<\/p>\n
