Through April 16 — \u201cHome Alone 3: On Pause<\/a>\u201d<\/h4>\n

An Online Exhibition of Video Works by Four Artists<\/em><\/p>\n

The work of artists Janaye Brown, Matt Frieburghaus, Megan Suttles and Mandy Cano Villalobos will be featured in \u201cHome Alone 3: On Pause,\u201d the third virtual exhibition to be presented by The Teaching Gallery at Hudson Valley Community College as pandemic safety protocols keep the on-campus gallery closed. The exhibition will be available for viewing April 16 at www.hvcc.edu\/teachinggallery<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The first of four live-streamed talks with the participating artists is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16. Janaye Brown will talk about her work and career from Shanghai, China, where she currently lives.<\/p>\n

The videos of Janaye Brown invite the viewer to observe and experience the calm stillness of waiting while mundane actions \u2013 a boat passing in the distance, a man doing tai chi \u2013 unfold. Brown has an MFA in Studio Art from the University of Texas at Austin and a BA in Cinematic Arts and Technology from California State University Monterey Bay. She currently lives in Shanghai, China.<\/p>\n

The remaining artitst talks are:

\nThursday, March 18 at 10:30 a.m. \u2013 Mandy Cano Villalobos
\nThursday, April 8 at 2:30 p.m. \u2013 Megan Suttles
\nThe talks will be free to the public with links available at www.hvcc.edu\/teachinggallery.<\/p>\n

Editor’s note: Janaye Brown’s talk will be recorded for later viewing; access details will be announced when available. It was decided not to postpone the event due to the weather-related delayed opening of the college on Feb. 16.<\/p>\n
