Join nearly 200 HVCC faculty who are involved with the open educational resources (OER) initiative that has saved students more than $1 million in textbook costs. Limited funds remain available to support faculty engagement in the OER initiative: Faculty who complete the three-hour introductory workshop (online) will receive a $100 stipend. Faculty who complete the workshop and subsequently propose to adopt OER to replace a commercial textbook are eligible to receive a $400 stipend* per course.<\/p>\n
Faculty are encouraged to review the Introduction to OER subject guide online<\/a> and — because of the limited funding available — to contact Library Director Brenda Hazard<\/a>, who serves as the SUNY OER institutional lead, to verify that stipends remain available. DC approval is also required.<\/p>\n Faculty are welcome to complete the workshop and to explore OER without stipends! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n *Stipends are provided for successful proposals.
