\"\"<\/a>Denise Russo, an instructional content designer in the Center for Distance and Online Learning, recently published a scholarly manuscript entitled \u201cThe Use and Impact of Metadata in Civil Cases,\u201d at First Monday, one of the first online, open-access, peer-reviewed journals. Produced by the University of Illinois at Chicago, FirstMonday.org was established in May 1996 and focuses on the digital world.<\/p>\n

Previous to coming to Hudson Valley Community College, Russo taught Communication Sciences at the graduate level at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, Adelphi University (Garden City, New York), and St. John\u2019s University (New York City), as a clinical supervisor and lecturer with expertise in linguistics and English as a Foreign Language. Her research interests focus on the historical, multilingual, and legal aspects of metadata creation and usage. Russo also serves on the Board of Trustees at the Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society (Farmingdale, New York).<\/p>\n

Russo gratefully acknowledges Dr. Abebe Rorissa, professor and director of the iSchool for Information Science at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and co-author of the article, for his well-published expertise in the field of Information Science.<\/p>\n
