In continuation of National Hispanic Heritage Month, let’s celebrate Raffi Freedman-Gurspan, a self-identified Latina of Honduran heritage, and human rights advocate!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>She was the first openly transgender person to work as a White House staffer. She was the primary liaison to the LGBTQ community and an outreach and recruitment director in the Presidential Personnel Office during the Obama administration. Prior to working at the White House, she worked at the National Center for Transgender Equality as a policy advisor for the Racial and Economic Justice Initiative. She is currently working as deputy states director for the All On The Line campaign of the National Redistricting Action Fund in the fight against gerrymandering.<\/p>\n
