On Oct. 12, Mortuary Science Students were fortunate to attend a seminar presented by Siena College Professor Carla J. Sofka, Ph.D., MSW, at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands. Her topic was “Thanatology and Coping with Loss: Things for Mortuary Science Students to Consider.”<\/p>\n

Following the presentation and lunch, the students toured the St. Agnes Cemetery grounds, including a public and private mausoleum, and also were invited to visit the crematorium and chapel at the Albany Rural Cemetery.<\/p>\n

We were grateful to have this learning opportunity for our students and to connect with the community.<\/p>\n
