{"id":16943,"date":"2021-11-22T13:10:22","date_gmt":"2021-11-22T18:10:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/register-or-update-your-information-for-our-notification-systems\/"},"modified":"2021-11-22T13:10:22","modified_gmt":"2021-11-22T18:10:22","slug":"register-or-update-your-information-for-our-notification-systems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/register-or-update-your-information-for-our-notification-systems\/","title":{"rendered":"Register or Update your Information for our Notification Systems"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to access two notification systems, Alertus and SUNY NY-Alert, to receive important communications during emergency situations and severe weather events affecting our community. <strong>In addition to improving communications during unexpected events, both systems are used to share weather-related <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hvcc.edu\/closing.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">college closures and class cancellations<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Alertus App<\/h2>\n<p>Alertus is a system that allows the college to share messages through select communications tools, including a mobile app.<\/p>\n<p>To receive notifications, download the app Alertus + through the <a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/alertus\/id896799884?mt=8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iTunes App Store<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.alertus.mobile_receiver&amp;hl=en_US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google Play Store<\/a> and follow the instructions below.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Organization Code: hvcc<\/li>\n<li>Enter your email address and click &#8220;Register&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Open your email and click on link to confirm your account<\/li>\n<li>Restart Alertus + mobile app and set up notifications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>SUNY NY-Alert<\/h2>\n<p>SUNY NY-Alert allows Hudson Valley to send text messages, phone, email and\/or fax alerts to those who sign up.<\/p>\n<p>You will need to opt in to the system to receive the alerts. When you opt in, you can choose the format(s) for which you would like to receive messages.<\/p>\n<p>Sign-up for SUNY NY-Alert by accessing &#8220;Personal Information&#8221; after you log in to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hvcc.edu\/wired.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WIReD<\/a>.
