\n<\/strong>Our region has so much to offer, and I believe it\u2019s important to use our resources to make the most of it. One area I have been involved in personally is the revitalization of our riverfronts. As a co-chair of the city of Troy Downtown Revitalization Initiative, I have been a part of many conversations about the importance of investing in our local waterways and riverfronts. These areas are historically significant and are drivers of economic and workforce development for our region; and creating greater access will increase quality of life and recreational opportunities for our local residents and visitors, too.<\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>Hudson Valley\u2019s vision is \u201cto deliver what the future demands, and meet the educational needs of a rapidly transforming world by leading today and anticipating tomorrow.\u201d Anticipating tomorrow means thinking not only about what our students will need in five years, but what they will need in 10 or 20 years as well. Much of Generation Alpha, or Generation AR (Age of Robotics), is in elementary school right now \u2014 and some have not been born yet \u2014 but they will be entering college before we know it. This generation was raised on technology and will inherit an increasingly globally connected landscape where technological advancement will be even more paramount, and likely even faster-paced, than it is now. It is our responsibility to adapt to those changing needs now, so that we are able to prepare this generation for the unique challenges and opportunities they will be facing as they pursue higher education and enter the working world.<\/p>\n
