{"id":18352,"date":"2022-07-22T12:05:56","date_gmt":"2022-07-22T16:05:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/participants-in-pals-summer-enrichment-program-learn-about-hudson-valley-community-college\/"},"modified":"2022-07-22T12:05:56","modified_gmt":"2022-07-22T16:05:56","slug":"participants-in-pals-summer-enrichment-program-learn-about-hudson-valley-community-college","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/participants-in-pals-summer-enrichment-program-learn-about-hudson-valley-community-college\/","title":{"rendered":"Participants in PAL&#8217;s Summer Enrichment Program learn about Hudson Valley Community College"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On July 21, a team of college personnel presented an academic enrichment workshop to Albany High School students participating in the City of Albany Police Athletic League (PAL) Summer Enrichment Program.<\/p>\n<p>Sixteen students learned about what Hudson Valley Community College can offer them from staff in the Admissions Office, Center for Academic Engagement (CAE), Center for Access &amp; Assistive Technology (CAAT), Center for Career &amp; Transfer and the Athletics Department.<\/p>\n<p>The event was part of the Student Affairs Community Outreach and Recruitment Project that&#8217;s designed to reach out to and engage community, educational, refugee and faith-based organizations in the Capital District.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m always impressed with the expertise of our staff, but was especially impressed with the students,&#8221; Louis Coplin, vice president for Student Affairs, said. &#8220;They were very attentive and asked very important questions.&#8221;\u00a0 He added, &#8220;The goal of the program is to support other campus enrollment and recruitment strategies.
