\nThe Hudson Valley Community College Foundation has received a $50,000 gift commitment from M&T Bank to benefit the college’s TEC-SMART facility in Malta. The funds will be utilized to support the facility.<\/p>\n
“Hudson Valley Community College plays an important role in preparing students for the careers of a global economy. M&T’s investment in the TEC-SMART initiative is an investment in a state-of-the-art facility that is training Capital Region residents for the economic engine that will propel our region’s future. M&T Bank’s success is directly related to the economic health of the communities we serve and our support of this classroom is indicative of our commitment to Capital Region’s success,” said Michael T. Keegan, M&T Bank Regional President for Albany and Hudson Valley North.<\/p>\n
In honor of M&T’s leadership commitment, the Hudson Valley Community College Board of Trustees voted this fall to name a classroom at TEC-SMART.<\/p>\n
M&T has donated $10,500 over the past three years to support scholarships for the college’s ‘College in the High School’ program, which allows local students to take college-level coursework before graduating from high school.<\/p>\n
-M&T Bank is a great friend and partner to the college and its charitable foundation. It is a thrill for the Foundation to be able to recognize M&T for its leadership gift to TEC-SMART,’ said Sarah Boggess, president of the Hudson Valley Community College Foundation.<\/p>\n
Boggess also thanked M&T Vice President Tracey Wardwell, who serves as an officer on the Foundation Board of Directors.<\/p>\n
M&T’s most recent commitment was made as part of the Foundation’s comprehensive campaign, The Promise of Our Region: The Campaign for the Community, which has sought funding for high-tech, nursing and automotive academic programs.\n<\/p>\n
