Hudson Valley Community College will be upgrading to Blackboard 9.1 for the Summer 2011 semester. In many ways, Blackboard 9.1 is similar to Blackboard 8, but there are some major differences, such as navigation and wording.<\/p>\n

There are also many new features such as wikis and blogs.<\/p>\n

The most important thing you need to know is that there is no data in Blackboard 9.1 . Any courses (including Z areas) that you would like to have in Bb 9.1 for summer and fall 2011 will have to be exported from Bb 8 and imported into Bb 9.1. It is the same procedure that faculty perform each semester to prepare their courses for the new semester. However, in this case, the courses will be going from Bb 8 to Bb 9.1. The Distance Learning staff is available to help you with this transition.<\/p>\n

Blackboard Transition Training has begun! There are many options for training:<\/p>\n

– Walk-in<\/p>\n

– One-on-one by appointment<\/p>\n

– Departmental groups<\/p>\n

– Weekly scheduled classes<\/p>\n

Currently scheduled classes in BTC 1033:<\/p>\n

Thursday, Jan. 27 from noon-2 p.m.<\/p>\n

Tuesday, Feb. 1 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.<\/p>\n

Wednesday, Feb. 2 from 9-11 a.m.<\/p>\n

Thursday, Feb. 3 from noon-2 p.m.<\/p>\n
