This week in athletics.<\/p>\n

Student-Workers Needed<\/strong>: Interested in getting paid to work Vikings home games? Visit the athletics department today for an application! (McDonough 219)<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Cross Country:<\/strong> The men’s and women’s cross country programs competed at the Steven A. Warde Invitational, hosted by SUNY Cobleskill, on Sept. 9. The men’s program placed fifth out of nine participating programs and was led by Adam Blough, who placed 20th overall with a time of 32:01. The women’s program also placed fifth overall out of six. The women’s team was led by Rebecca Martin, who placed 29th overall with an official time of 33:40.<\/p>\n

Football:<\/strong> The football program did not have a game this week. Up next for the Vikings will be one of the biggest games of the season as they welcome nationally-ranked Nassau to the Outdoor Athletic Complex for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Sept. 16 for the NJCAA ESPN+ Game of the Week, as announced by the NJCAA on Aug. 28.<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s Soccer:<\/strong> \u00a0The men’s soccer team dropped both of its home games last week against Jefferson (2-0) and Genesee (2-1). Up next for the soccer team is a key Region 3 game at Tompkins Cortland on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Dryden.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s Soccer:<\/strong> The women’s soccer team was defeated in all three home games last week with games against nationally-ranked programs Jefferson (3-0) and Genesee (4-0). They were also defeated on Sunday in a non-regional match, 2-0, against Southern Maine CC. Up next for the women\u2019s program is an away match at Tompkins Cortland on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Dryden.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s Volleyball<\/strong>: The women\u2019s volleyball team had a successful day at the Niagara pod tournament as they continued the Region 3 schedule, finishing with a 1-1 record. Volleyball’s home-opener is Tuesday, Sept. 12\u00a0 against Herkimer at 6 p.m. in the McDonough Sports Complex.<\/p>\n
