Everyone is advised to be aware and take precautions as needed, perhaps by following a personal COVID protection plan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Understanding Your Risk<br \/>\n<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/your-health\/understanding-risk.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/your-health\/understanding-risk.html<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>People who are more likely to get very sick include older adults (age 50+), people who are unvaccinated, and people with certain medical conditions, such as chronic lung disease, heart disease, or a weakened immune system.<\/li>\n<li>People with risk factors for severe disease may benefit from treatment if they get COVID-19. A healthcare provider will help decide which treatment, if any, is right for you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All students and college employees are encouraged to keep up-to-date with the available COVID-19 vaccines to avoid getting the virus. <a href=\"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wordpress\/health-services-hosting-flu-and-covid-vaccine-clinic-on-sept-20-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Please click here to learn about a flu shot and COVID vaccine clinic that Health Services is hosting on Wednesday, Sept. 20<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tests<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have a supply of COVID-19 self-test kits at home, and know when and how to use them.<br \/>\n(Free kits currently are available from Health Services, located in the Siek Campus Center, suite 270.)<\/li>\n<li>If you have symptoms of COVID-19, test immediately.<\/li>\n<li>COVID-19 symptoms include sore throat, congestion\/runny nose, cough, fatigue, fever or chills, headache, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, new loss of sense of smell or taste, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing<\/li>\n<li>You may have other symptoms. Call your healthcare provider if you have any symptoms that are severe or cause concern.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>If you test positive..<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>DO NOT come to campus.<\/li>\n<li>Call Health Services at (518) 629-7468, select option 2. If you do not get through immediately, leave a voice mail including your name (with spelling) and a phone number. Health Services will contact you and explain the CDC guidance measures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Things to consider if you get sick<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be prepared to isolate if necessary. Do you have an extra room in your home?<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t come to campus!<\/li>\n<li>Avoid academic disruptions and communicate with your faculty. (Do you have their email?)<\/li>\n<li>Are you able to take your classes remotely?
