Diversions are a great technique to use when you\u2019re feeling stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed because they are fun and things you already do!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-149104 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/Board-Game-Pic-2-450x241.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"241\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Distractions can be any wide assortment of things you enjoy. Working out, watching a movie, talking with a friend, shopping, puzzles, reading a book, and taking a walk in nature are all good examples of utilizing this skill. Find what works for you in destressing your mind and body!<\/p>\n<p>Often times, when we are feeling overwhelmed or anxious about our stressors, we tend to hold onto and obsess over these strong thoughts and feelings, increasing their intensity.
